INTERACTIVE KNOWLEDGE STACK

The IKS project developed a series of software components to provide specific semantic capabilities to other systems. The Stanbol component for Named Entity Recognition (NER) was integrated into the Ximdex CMS to:

  • Extend our Person, Location, and Organization (PLO) management system through Apache Stanbol

  • Adapt the handling of XML schemas using RNG and Ximdex’s XSLT transformation system to generate RDFa and PLO tags

  • Create visual components for use, following our motto: "Hide the technological complexity. The user should only perceive its benefits."

| DERIVED COMMERCIAL PROJECTS |

The Stanbol component integrated into the IKS project has become a cornerstone of the semantic repository of the Ximdex Platform, being incorporated into projects like PROCOMÚN and BRAE.

Additionally, the Ximdex platform was used in the PROCOMÚN project to semantize over 100,000 educational multimedia resources (videos, animations, images, graphics, etc.), thus facilitating their discovery and distribution, even overcoming language barriers.
