The main objective of the MUG project (Museum Generator) is the development of a system for the automated creation of Virtual Museums, accessible from both desktop terminals and mobile devices, based on a catalog of digital resources with associated metadata in semantic formats.
Thus, the MUG system enables the exploitation of a semantic repository of digitized objects, leveraging the semantic relationships existing between the objects (such as temporal, stylistic, geographical proximity, school, trends, etc.), automatically generating a new Virtual Museum (VM) in web format in just a few minutes, based on user-defined filtering conditions.
Commercial projects developed with Ximdex CMS after MUG have benefited from the metadata processing using semantic technologies, as it is integrated into the Ximdex platform by default.
